How to book
Two classes can be booked during one time spot (AM or PM). One class will participate in activities in Education Centre and one class will explore the wetland. Then after approximately 45 minutes, the classes will swap activities.Step 1: Select the number of classes

- No additional cost for teaching staff
- Maximum class size per session is 30
- Staff-student ratio: 1:20 with a minimum of 2 staff

Year 1&2
- Learn where water comes from and where it goes once we have finished with it
- Understand the constant cycling of water through the environment
- Explore the liquid, solid and gaseous forms water can take and where these can occur
- Explain how water flows through the environment and the formation of wetlands
- Know that water is a resource and describe how it is used at school and in the home
- Understand water is an important and limited resource, and consider ways to use it wisely
- Explain how water can be a liquid, solid or gas using the natural water cycle
- Identify the importance of waterway environments in Melbourne and Victoria
- Identify where tap water comes from and know what happens when it goes down the drain
- Recognise that waterway environments provide habitat for different species and require protection
- Understand the importance of waterway habitats for different species

- Participate in a water cycle demonstration
- Explore a water catchment with a Stormwater Interactive Model
- Work in groups to complete a Water Cycle puzzle
- Explore the wetland and visit the bird hide
- Undertake a bird identification scavenger hunt

Safety requirements
For safety, all visitors completing a wetland walk during their visit to the centre must meet minimum dress standards that include:- Required: long sleeves, long pants/trousers and enclosed shoes. 
- Not allowed: shorts, skirts, open-toed shoes, high heels or sandals
Further information
- Visits will be cancelled on days declared a Total Fire Ban or catastrophic danger rating or when air quality is very poor or extremely poor
- The wetland walk will be cancelled on days of extreme, catastrophic and Total Fire Ban danger ratings
- Tours will need to be cancelled when a situation at the site is deemed unsafe.
