Learning outcomes
- Know that water is a scarce resource, and it needs to be managed to ensure water security
- Know that the liveability of Melbourne depends on a safe and secure supply of water; as well as treatment of waste water
- Explain the different methods to overcoming water scarcity
- Understand that Melbourne's water security (supply) will be impacted by climate change
Student activities
- Explore the sewage treatment virtually
- See the process of sewage treatment, from when sewage enters the plant to its treatment and reuse or release
- Discuss how they are part of the natural and urban water cycle
- Interact with the educators ask questions
Booking information
- Class size: 10 - 70 students per booking
- Price: $60.00 per booking
- Length: 1 hour (flexible)
- Times: scheduled either in the morning between 9.30am and 12.00pm or in the afternoon between 12.30pm and 3.00pm
- Digital platform: Melbourne Water uses Microsoft Teams or you can nominate to host the session using a different digital platform.
Safety requirements
We are committed to online safety. For school groups - teachers are expected to actively supervise students when they are online at all times, and at no point, leave the students unsupervised.
Supervision and control over the student users is the school's responsibility.
